Recharge is a supplement full of immune system supporting nutrients, herbs and natural compounds specially formulated to be fed for up to two months at a time* to promote recovery after illness.

Recharge contains a variety of nutrients for immunity: Echinacea, Astragalus and Ginseng, for their immunosupportive properties; Glutamine for healthy immune function; MOS (Mannanoligosaccharide) a carbohydrate that supports immune status; vitamin E and Selenium to ensure adequate supplies for optimum immune function, plus Omega 3 and antioxidant rich Flaxseed.

Feed supplements should be fed according to bodyweight - height has been given as a guide. Introduce gradually, splitting between feeds (if applicable).

Recharge has been formulated to be fed alongside a balanced ration, so ensure your horse is receiving adequate supplies of essential vitamins and minerals before you add Recharge to the diet. If in doubt, add a broad-spectrum vitamin and mineral supplement such as Feedmark Benevit Advance to the daily ration.

*Feed Recharge for between one and two months. After two months, discontinue feeding for one month before resuming Recharge.

The immune system is a defence mechanism, designed to protect the horse from invading pathogens such as bacteria and viruses that cause disease. Immune defence is highly complex and functions effectively when everything is in working order. If, however, the horse's immune system is compromised or general resistance is lowered, then there is an increased risk of disease. Various factors can compromise immune system function, including inadequate nutrition, which may simply be due to a lack of essential microminerals. Other possible factors are disease and illness, heavy or prolonged exercise or conditions associated with advancing age; since the immune system functions less effectively as the horse gets older. Both mental and physical stress may also compromise the immune system, and such stress may range from weaning to physical injury of a riding horse.
